Hello, I'm Jayce Riegling

Jayce Riegling

My name is Jayce Riegling and I am currently a Junior at Indiana University Bloomington.

I have worked in quite a few different industries in the past, including the bar industry, car sales, insurance, and manufacturing. However, my true passion comes in the Sports Agent industry. I was able to get my first job in the agent industry at the end of my Junior year of High School at Capture Sports Agency in Fort Wayne, IN.

I have also worked at 4wrd Sports & Entertainment in Phoenix, AZ and Strategic Athlete Initiatives in South Bend, IN. My most recent internship experiences have come with KARES Sports Management under MLBPA Agent Preston Chapman in Fall 2022 and underneath MLBPA Agent and former Director of Baseball Operations at Agency1 Sean Russi in Spring 2023. I hope to bring my blue collar values and work ethic into the white collar field to get certified and make a true difference in athletes’ lives.

This website will be used to showcase my recently launched “JKR Baseball, highlight my baseball podcast,  and serve as a career page featuring why I want to be an agent, previous projects, and career documents.

Why I want to be an Agent?

Becoming a sports agent has been a dream of mine before I even hit High School. I was always fascinated with comparing contracts, doing mock scouting reports, and creating sports projects from a young age. I have always been huge into athlete advocacy and helping the players in the best possible way.

As a Freshman in High School, I began a business plan for a sports agency and tried convincing my dad to get certified so we can start the business. Fortunately, my premature thoughts were shut down and I was given an opportunity to study the field more and more. Since then, I have been able to get a few internships within the industry, take a few classes, and learn from some of the game’s best agents. I started to solely focus on Major League Baseball during the spring of my Freshman year at Indiana. With that in mind, I decided to launch my own baseball podcast networking with top prospects, agents, coaches, and different travel baseball organizations. Looking towards my upcoming career, I know I will fight for the player’s best interest in every way. Graduating college and high school  student athletes are getting a lot thrown at them nowadays and I want to make that transition easier.

Like I mentioned before, I am an athlete advocate and believe in player branding, marketing the players as people, and the term “More Than an Athlete”. Creating content for players, helping players invest and open businesses, assisting in maximizing every dollar an athlete can make, and building legacies is a big part of my dream and a key aspect that I believe will set me apart from the competition.

Athletes are influencers and most do not use their platforms to the best of their ability. I am a very motivated individual and I pride myself on getting the job done. I’m from a blue collar family and I want to bring that blue collar attitude into this industry to outwork others and assist my future clients.

Testimonials

Seeing the way Jayce coordinated the NECC Home Run Derby was amazing. Even as a High Schooler, Jayce knew what it took to coordinate an event of that magnitude. Watching the way that he built relationships and networked in order to secure sponsors, advertise the event, and raise money for a great cause was awesome to see from someone at such a young age. I can confidently say that Jayce will be successful in anything he chooses to do in the future!

Jayce is an organized, creative problem-solver. This in combination with his level of maturity and engaging personality helps him navigate easily between different peer and adult social groups. I had the pleasure of working with him in a variety of roles and witnessed his adaptability, maturity, and commitment level to his goals and towards others. He is not only an excellent student, but more importantly, he is a mature young man with morals, character, and a willingness to help others.

Jayce was constantly eager for projects that he could work on and was always looking for more ways to contribute. Whether it was building plans for the clients we were working with or making calls out to teams to inquire about tryouts/opportunities while I was working, he was fearless from day one & there was no task too tall for him. Being that he was so young at the time that we began collaborating, I wasn’t sure how long I should hold off on placing more responsibility in his hands. He made that decision for me by constantly seeking more things to do. His work ethic and ambition distinguished him and not long after our first phone call I realized that this kid was legitimate.

I believe Jayce is a driven person. He exemplifies incredible leadership, diligent action, a commitment to excellence, as well as a desired belief in everything that he does. This was shown as he went through the process of creating such a positive event for his class, the school, the NECC, and the baseball community. Jayce continuously set goals and created a vision for himself and the event, but more importantly, he aligned his actions with his vision. This opportunity allowed Jayce to continue to work towards his overall life vision, and ultimately impacted so many people along the way. Jayce is on track to accomplish many great things, and I am excited to watch him grow and develop into a successful individual/professional.

Jayce is an exceptionally driven individual with an outstanding ability to encourage, motivate, mentor and lead others. He works hard, is extremely organized, and has excellent interpersonal skills. Jayce is someone who can be counted on to carry any project through from brainstorming and onset to completion. In the summer of 2020, Jayce was a participant in Launch LaGrange, an entrepreneur challenge in our county. Jayce placed third in the county challenge, and continues molding and building his business endeavor to this day. This is just one example of his dedication and drive.
