Hello, I'm Jayce Riegling
Jayce Riegling
My name is Jayce Riegling and I am currently a Junior at Indiana University Bloomington.
I have worked in quite a few different industries in the past, including the bar industry, car sales, insurance, and manufacturing. However, my true passion comes in the Sports Agent industry. I was able to get my first job in the agent industry at the end of my Junior year of High School at Capture Sports Agency in Fort Wayne, IN.
I have also worked at 4wrd Sports & Entertainment in Phoenix, AZ and Strategic Athlete Initiatives in South Bend, IN. My most recent internship experiences have come with KARES Sports Management under MLBPA Agent Preston Chapman in Fall 2022 and underneath MLBPA Agent and former Director of Baseball Operations at Agency1 Sean Russi in Spring 2023. I hope to bring my blue collar values and work ethic into the white collar field to get certified and make a true difference in athletes’ lives.
This website will be used to showcase my recently launched “JKR Baseball”, highlight my baseball podcast, and serve as a career page featuring why I want to be an agent, previous projects, and career documents.
Why I want to be an Agent?
Becoming a sports agent has been a dream of mine before I even hit High School. I was always fascinated with comparing contracts, doing mock scouting reports, and creating sports projects from a young age. I have always been huge into athlete advocacy and helping the players in the best possible way.
As a Freshman in High School, I began a business plan for a sports agency and tried convincing my dad to get certified so we can start the business. Fortunately, my premature thoughts were shut down and I was given an opportunity to study the field more and more. Since then, I have been able to get a few internships within the industry, take a few classes, and learn from some of the game’s best agents. I started to solely focus on Major League Baseball during the spring of my Freshman year at Indiana. With that in mind, I decided to launch my own baseball podcast networking with top prospects, agents, coaches, and different travel baseball organizations. Looking towards my upcoming career, I know I will fight for the player’s best interest in every way. Graduating college and high school student athletes are getting a lot thrown at them nowadays and I want to make that transition easier.
Like I mentioned before, I am an athlete advocate and believe in player branding, marketing the players as people, and the term “More Than an Athlete”. Creating content for players, helping players invest and open businesses, assisting in maximizing every dollar an athlete can make, and building legacies is a big part of my dream and a key aspect that I believe will set me apart from the competition.
Athletes are influencers and most do not use their platforms to the best of their ability. I am a very motivated individual and I pride myself on getting the job done. I’m from a blue collar family and I want to bring that blue collar attitude into this industry to outwork others and assist my future clients.
